Kenya Cluster Points Calculator
Calculate your KUCCPS weighted cluster points for university admissions based on your KCSE performance.
Weighted Cluster Points:
Step-by-Step Guide
- Identify Your Subjects: Determine the four subjects required for your intended course. Each course has specific subject requirements. Check KUCCPS for details.
- Calculate Subject Points: Assign points to each subject based on your KCSE grades:
- A = 12 points
- A- = 11 points
- B+ = 10 points
- B = 9 points
- B- = 8 points
- C+ = 7 points
- C = 6 points
- C- = 5 points
- D+ = 4 points
- D = 3 points
- D- = 2 points
- E = 1 point
- Sum Your Points: Add the points from your four selected subjects to get r.
- Calculate Weighted Points:
- Divide r by 48 (Maximum points for 4 subjects).
- Divide your total grade points t by 84 (Maximum KCSE points).
- Multiply the two results and take the square root.
- Finally, multiply by 48 to get your weighted cluster points C.
- Example:
If you scored the following grades:
- Mathematics: A (12 points)
- Physics: B (9 points)
- Chemistry: B+ (10 points)
- English: A- (11 points)
The sum of the subject points: r = 12 + 9 + 10 + 11 = 42
Assuming the student has total grade points t = 72, the formula becomes:
C = [√ {(42/48) × (72/84)} ] × 48
Result: The weighted cluster point is approximately 41.5.
