Crown Paints Appoints Mustafa Turra as New Group CEO

Crown Paints Kenya Plc, the region’s leading paint manufacturer, has announced the appointment of Mustafa Turra as its new Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective October 1, 2025.

Turra joins Crown Paints from Olam Agri Nigeria, where he served as Vice President and Business Head of Soy Crush Integrated Feed & Protein, leading Sub-Saharan Africa’s largest animal feed business.

With more than 20 years of global leadership experience across the paint, manufacturing, and distribution industries, Turra has managed operations in over ten countries spanning India, the Middle East, Africa, the Caribbean, and South Asia. He is widely recognized for driving business transformation, growth, and innovation, while building high-performance, multicultural teams in fast-paced markets.

Turra holds an MBA in Strategic Management and Marketing from XLRI Jamshedpur and a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi.

In a statement, the Board of Directors of Crown Paints Kenya welcomed the new CEO, expressing confidence in his leadership:

Transition from Long-Serving CEO

Turra succeeds Dr. Rakesh Rao, who has served as Crown Paints Group CEO since 2005. The board paid tribute to Dr. Rao’s two-decade-long tenure, recognizing his exceptional leadership and significant contribution to the company’s growth.
