Kenya Power Opens January 2026 Attachments; Apply Before December 2!

Kenya Power has announced the opening of applications for its January–March 2026 industrial attachment program, offering continuing students valuable opportunities to gain hands-on experience across technical and non-technical fields.

The initiative aligns with the Government’s broader youth empowerment agenda by helping students develop practical skills and enhance their readiness for the job market.

According to the announcement, the three-month attachment will run from January to March 2026 across various Kenya Power departments. It targets students pursuing Bachelor’s Degrees, Diplomas, and Craft Certificates in approved disciplines.

Eligible Programs

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Technical and Non-Technical disciplines
  • Diploma: Technical and Non-Technical disciplines
  • Craft Certificate:
    • Electrical & Electronics Engineering (Power Option)
    • Mechanical/Automotive Engineering
    • Building & Civil Engineering
    • Plumbing

However, Kenya Power clarified that no attachment positions are available for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) courses during this intake.

Requirements for Applicants

To qualify, applicants must:

  1. Be available full-time for the three-month period.
  2. Be continuing students in accredited institutions pursuing the specified programs.
  3. Hold a valid introduction letter from their learning institution.
  4. Have an active personal accident insurance cover valid throughout the attachment.

Application Procedure

Interested candidates should apply online via the Kenya Power website (www.kplc.co.ke) under the Public Information → Career Opportunities section. The deadline for applications is Tuesday, December 2, 2025.

Applicants should use the following reference numbers when submitting applications:

  • Undergraduate Attachment: Ref. No. KP1/ATTGRAD/26/1
  • Diploma Attachment: Ref. No. KP1/ATTDIP/26/1
  • Craft Certificate (Power, Mechanical/Automotive): Ref. No. KP1/ATTCERT/26/1

Kenya Power emphasized that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted and warned that canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification.

The utility company encouraged all eligible students to read the online application manual for detailed guidance on completing the process.
