Kenya Revenue Authority has announced a scheduled maintenance exercise that will temporarily shut down access to the iTax system for all users.
According to KRA, the planned system maintenance will begin on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 8:00 pm and end on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at 12:01 am. The exercise is expected to last approximately four hours.
During the maintenance window, taxpayers will not be able to access iTax services, including filing returns, making payments, generating compliance certificates or carrying out any other transactions on the platform.
KRA has advised taxpayers and businesses to plan their tax-related activities in advance to avoid disruptions, particularly those with deadlines falling around the maintenance period.
The authority said the temporary downtime is part of ongoing efforts to enhance system performance, reliability and overall service delivery on the iTax platform.
KRA apologised for any inconvenience the maintenance may cause and assured users that services will resume immediately after the exercise is completed.
