The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has released the degree programme clusters for the 2026 placement cycle (covering the 2025/2026 application period). These clusters categorize all available degree courses based on specific KCSE subject requirements, helping KCSE graduates determine eligibility and calculate cluster points for university placement.
This comprehensive guide provides the full list of KUCCPS 2026 degree clusters as per the official structure (from the Degree Cluster Document and programme listings on kuccps.net/students.kuccps.net). Clusters are grouped by field, with subject requirements and all listed degree programmes (consolidated from official sources, removing exact duplicates while preserving variations like “With IT”).
A standard minimum mean grade of C+ applies for most degrees, but competitive clusters (e.g., Medicine, Law) require higher grades (often B plain or above in key subjects). Cluster points are derived from performance in the four weighted subjects per cluster.
How KUCCPS Clusters Work Programmes are grouped into clusters using four subjects from these KCSE groups:
- Group I: English, Kiswahili, Mathematics Alt A/B
- Group II: Biology, Physics, Chemistry, General Science
- Group III: History, Geography, CRE/IRE/HRE
- Group IV: Home Science, Art & Design, Agriculture, etc.
- Group V: French, German, Music, Business Studies, etc.
Use the KUCCPS student portal to calculate your cluster points, view cut-offs (from previous cycles like 2023/2024 as reference), and apply/revise choices.
