Airtel Kenya Opens Three New Customer Care Shops Along Thika Superhighway

Airtel CEO opens shop

Airtel Kenya has expanded its physical customer service footprint with the official opening of three new customer care shops along the busy Thika Superhighway corridor, reinforcing its commitment to enhancing customer experience and accessibility.

The new outlets are strategically located at Spur Mall in Ruiru, Nord Mall in Ruiru, and along the Eastern Bypass at Galana Energies. The expansion targets the rapidly growing residential and commercial zones within the Thika Superhighway and its environs, one of the most vibrant economic corridors in the Nairobi Metropolitan area.

Bringing Services Closer To Customers

The opening of the three shops forms part of Airtel Kenya’s broader strategy to improve service convenience and provide face-to-face support for subscribers. Customers will be able to access a full range of services at the new outlets, including SIM registration and replacement, Airtel Money services, device support, data and voice plan inquiries, and general customer assistance.

Speaking during the official opening of the Spur Mall outlet in Ruiru, Group CEO Sunil Taldar emphasized that customers remain central to the company’s strategic direction.

“The customer is at the core of every business decision and strategy at Airtel,” he said, underscoring the operator’s focus on service excellence and responsiveness.

Mission To Double Customer Service Footprint

At the launch events for the Nord Mall and Galana Energies outlets, Managing Director Ashish Malhotra revealed that the telco is pursuing an ambitious expansion plan.

“We are on a mission to double our customer service footprint before the end of the year,” he noted.

This expansion drive signals intensified competition in Kenya’s telecommunications sector, where operators are increasingly investing in both digital and physical infrastructure to improve customer engagement and retention.

Also present during the launches was Customer Experience Director Goldermier Opiyo, highlighting the strategic importance Airtel places on direct customer interaction.

Strategic Significance Of The Thika Superhighway Corridor

The Thika Superhighway corridor, stretching from Nairobi’s central business district through Ruiru and beyond, has experienced significant residential, retail, and industrial growth over the past decade. The addition of customer care shops in high-traffic commercial centers such as Spur Mall and Nord Mall positions Airtel to tap into this expanding consumer base.

By establishing outlets at both mall locations and a fuel station hub along the Eastern Bypass, the company aims to offer convenience to customers in transit as well as residents and business operators in the area.

Enhancing Customer Experience In A Competitive Market

The new shop openings come amid heightened competition in Kenya’s telecom sector, where customer experience has become a key differentiator. Physical service centers continue to play a critical role, particularly for complex services that require documentation, technical troubleshooting, or in-person verification.

Airtel’s commitment to doubling its customer service footprint before year-end suggests further rollouts across other high-density regions nationwide.

With these new outlets now operational, customers along the Thika Superhighway and surrounding neighborhoods can expect faster service resolution, improved accessibility, and a more personalized engagement experience.
