Tai Sacco is one of Kenya’s most well-established and best-managed Savings and Credit Co-operative Societies (SACCOs). With an impressive asset base of more than Ksh 4.11 billion, Tai Sacco continues to offer a range of financial services to its members. Founded in 1992 as Kiambu Tea Growers Sacco, it began as a Back Office Service Activity (BOSA), serving tea farmers in Kiambu County. In 1999, the Sacco expanded its services by opening its Front Office Service Activity (FOSA) in Githunguri town.
As part of its growth strategy and to diversify its customer base, the Sacco rebranded to Tai Sacco Society Limited in 2009. The name change reflected its expanded services, which now attract a wide range of members beyond the tea farming community.
