This Saturday, over 320 golfers from across Kenya are set to converge at the par-73 Ruiru Golf Course for the much-anticipated Legendary Golf Tournament. The event, which brings together professionals from various disciplines, promises a competitive and entertaining day of golf, capped off with live band music in the evening.
The tournament, hosted by the Legendary Golfers, a group of golf enthusiasts and professionals united by their love for the sport, will feature a wide range of prizes for top performers. The action will kick off early in the morning at 6:40 am, with the afternoon tee-off slated for between 10:50 am and 1:30 pm.
Powered by several corporate sponsors including First Assurance, Floor Knight, Gelian Hotel Machakos, Ngambi Fresh, and Kwetu Real Estate, the event is expected to deliver both excitement and tough competition.
“We are thrilled to welcome some of the finest golfers in the country for the Legendary Golf Day at Ruiru,” said Ruiru Golf Club Captain, JK Muraguri. “With the course in prime condition and the greens offering a perfect environment for competitive play, we look forward to seeing golfers at their best.”
Among the top names to watch out for is Rhodah Mukami, who recently won the IPF Golf Tournament at the same venue, posting an impressive 41 stableford points. Mukami will be up against tough competition, including single-handicapper Bernard Omondi, Joe Muendo, and Beatrice Waweru.
Speaking ahead of the tournament, Mukami expressed her confidence: “I’m eager to continue my winning streak after my recent victory. It will be a challenging competition with the best golfers in the country, but I’m in great form and ready to make a statement from the start,” she said.
Another key player to watch is Ruiru-based golfer Rhoda Muhunyo, who emphasized her strong momentum: “I plan to maintain the same form that saw me succeed recently. My swing is on point, and I am prepared for what will undoubtedly be a tough contest.”
This tournament is part of the Ruiru Sports Club’s ongoing series of activities, which has seen corporate entities like IPF host various golf events at the Thika Road-based facility throughout the year. The Legendary Golf Tournament is expected to add another chapter of success to the club’s vibrant calendar.
With some of the biggest names in Kenyan golf converging on Ruiru, the stage is set for an exciting weekend of competition, camaraderie, and celebration.
