Wakenya Pamoja Sacco, one of Kenya’s largest deposit-taking Saccos, boasts an asset base exceeding Ksh 1.64 billion. It was founded in 1976 as the Union Banking Section of Kisii Farmers Cooperative Union and became an autonomous entity in 1992 under the name Gusii Farmers Rural Sacco Society Limited. In line with its strategic goal of expanding geographically and diversifying its membership, the Sacco rebranded to Wakenya Pamoja Sacco.
Wakenya Pamoja Sacco’s primary aim is to offer diverse financial products and services, going beyond tea and coffee to include microfinance, business development, value chain financing, and asset financing. This strategic expansion has allowed the Sacco to grow and diversify its membership base across the country.
