IG (Invest & Grow) Sacco is a leading tier 1 deposit-taking Sacco in Kenya, well-regarded for its robust management and financial stability. Established on 3rd August 1977, the Sacco began with an initial membership of 115, primarily comprising teachers. Today, IG Sacco has expanded its membership beyond its original base and boasts an asset base of Ksh 12.96 billion, making it one of the largest Saccos in the country.
With its headquarters in Kakamega, IG Sacco has branches across Vihiga and Kakamega Counties, serving a diverse membership that spans across Kenya, though concentrated in the former Western Province.
IG Sacco Membership Eligibility
Originally, membership of IG Sacco was limited to teachers in primary and secondary schools and members of the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT). However, the Sacco has since broadened its scope and now accepts:
- Teachers
- Civil servants
- Self-employed individuals
- Corporate entities
IG Sacco Membership Requirements
The membership requirements vary based on the individual’s employment status.
(i) TSC Non-Salaried Members
- Duly filled membership application form (available on the Sacco’s website or at any Sacco branch)
- Latest payslip, if available
- Copy of ID
- Appointment/recommendation letter
- Copy of KRA PIN certificate
- Photo, ID, and fingerprint specimen taken at the Sacco
(ii) TSC Salaried Members
- Duly filled IG Sacco joining form
- Latest payslip
- Copy of ID, photo, ID, and fingerprint specimen taken at the Sacco
(iii) Private Organisation Salaried Members
- Duly filled IG joining form
- Latest payslip
- Copy of ID
- Appointment/recommendation letter
- 3 months’ bank statement
- Photo, ID, and fingerprint specimen taken at the Sacco
- Fix a standing order to IG Sacco, KCB Bank Kakamega Branch, Account Number: 1101757663
(iv) Self-Employed Individuals
- Duly filled joining form
- Copy of ID
- KRA PIN certificate
- Recommendation from assistant chief/chief
- Photo, ID, and fingerprint specimen taken at the Sacco
