Established in September 2016, Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Nyandarua Campus is strategically located next to the JM Kariuki Memorial County Referral Hospital in Ol Kalou, Nyandarua County. The campus was officially opened in April 2016 and is part of KMTC’s extensive network of 71 campuses across Kenya. Offering high-quality medical training, KMTC Nyandarua Campus plays a key role in developing skilled healthcare professionals, meeting the growing demand for health services in the region and across the country.

Courses Offered at KMTC Nyandarua Campus

KMTC Nyandarua Campus currently offers four diploma and certificate courses. There are plans to expand the program offerings in the near future to cater to a wider range of healthcare specializations. Below is a detailed list of the courses currently offered:

  1. Certificate in Nutrition and Dietetics
    • Requirements: Mean grade D+, D+ in English or Kiswahili and Biology/Biological Sciences, D in Chemistry/Physical Science. D in any one of the following: Home Science, Agriculture, Mathematics, Physics, or General Science.
    • Duration: 2 years
  2. Diploma in Community Health Nursing
    • Requirements: Mean grade C, C in English or Kiswahili and Biology/Biological Sciences. C- in any one of the following: Chemistry/Physics/Physical Science or Mathematics.
    • Duration: 3 years
  3. Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics
    • Requirements: Mean grade C-, D+ in English or Kiswahili and Biology/Biological Sciences, D+ in Chemistry/Physical Science. D in any one of the following: Home Science, Agriculture, Mathematics, Physics, or General Science.
    • Duration: 3 years
  4. Upgrading Diploma in Community Health Nursing
    • Requirements: Certificate in Community Health Nursing (KECN), Registration by the Nursing Council of Kenya, 2 years post-graduation experience.
    • Duration: 2 years

  • Examination Fee: Ksh 10,000
  • Library and ICT Services: Ksh 3,000
  • Tuition Fee: Ksh 70,000
  • Research and Development Fee: Ksh 10,000
  • Transport Levy: Ksh 9,000
  • Maintenance Levy: Ksh 9,000
  • Student Identity Card: Ksh 700
  • Total: Ksh 120,700

Government-Sponsored Students Fees Structure:

  • Registration Fee: Ksh 2,000
  • Activity Fee: Ksh 7,000
  • Examination Fee: Ksh 10,000
  • Library and ICT Services: Ksh 3,000
  • Tuition Fee: Ksh 30,000
  • Research and Development Fee: Ksh 10,000
  • Transport Levy: Ksh 9,000

Please note that all payments should be made at any branch of the National Bank, and the college does not accept cash payments on campus. Meals and accommodation charges are payable directly to the campus upon admission.
