Challenges and Plans

Governor Leleliit has vowed to reform key sectors and address financial mismanagement left by the previous administration. His priorities include improving road infrastructure and boosting water services in the arid region. However, his administration inherited a debt-heavy budget, with significant portions of revenue tied up in salaries.

The Auditor-General previously highlighted issues such as the improper use of manual payroll systems, which contributed to poor financial oversight in Samburu County. Governor Leleliit has pledged to streamline payroll processes and improve transparency to ensure effective service delivery to residents.

Governor Leleliit’s success will depend on how well his CEC members deliver on key promises, including fostering economic growth and better public health services for the county’s population.
