The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) has officially commenced the dispatch of admission letters for the March 2025 intake, marking a significant milestone for aspiring healthcare professionals across the nation. This development comes as KMTC continues its commitment to bolstering Kenya’s healthcare system by training competent medical practitioners.

According to KMTC CEO Dr. Kelly Oluoch, a total of 14,338 admission letters for pre-service courses have been released. These letters are being issued to applicants who applied through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) portal. Dr. Oluoch emphasized that the college is issuing letters based on the official list of successful applicants received from KUCCPS over the weekend.

In addition to pre-service courses, KMTC has also begun issuing admission letters to students who applied for upgrading courses, including diploma, higher diploma, and certificate programs. This initiative aims to enhance the skills of existing healthcare workers, thereby improving the quality of healthcare services in the country.

The reporting date for new students joining KMTC has been set for March 18, 2025. In preparation for this, the college has put in place measures to ensure a smooth onboarding process for all incoming students. Dr. Oluoch reassured applicants that the institution is ready to welcome the new cohort and provide them with the necessary resources to kickstart their medical training.

Dr. Oluoch issued a stern warning to applicants to be vigilant against fraudsters claiming to assist in acquiring admission letters. He clarified that all successful applicants have received a text notification with instructions on how to download their letters from the KMTC portal and emphasized that no one is required to pay anything to access the admission letter. This caution comes in the wake of reports about individuals attempting to defraud unsuspecting applicants by offering fake admission services.

For those who were unsuccessful in the previous application cycle or are interested in joining KMTC, the institution, in collaboration with KUCCPS, has announced the availability of 5,000 additional training slots for the March 2025 intake. Prospective students have the opportunity to apply for any of the 21 programs available at KMTC on or before the March 4, 2025, deadline. The application process is accessible via the KUCCPS student portal. Dr. Oluoch encouraged all interested applicants to seize this opportunity and reassured them that the college has put in place support measures to assist those facing challenges with their applications. Backed by KUCCPS, officers have been deployed in selected campuses, and desk officers have been trained to provide the necessary support.

Enhancing Healthcare Training

KMTC’s efforts align with the broader national agenda of enhancing healthcare delivery by ensuring a steady pipeline of well-trained medical professionals. By expanding training opportunities and streamlining the admission process, KMTC plays a pivotal role in addressing the healthcare needs of the Kenyan population. The institution’s commitment to quality training ensures that graduates are well-equipped to serve in various capacities within the healthcare system, thereby contributing to the overall improvement of health services in the country.

Aspiring medical professionals are encouraged to take advantage of the available training slots and apply before the March 4, 2025, deadline.
