Rubis Energy Kenya has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Kenya Association of Travel Agents (KATA) to roll out a fuel program designed to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency for travel agencies nationwide.
Exclusive Discounts and Benefits
Under the agreement, KATA members will access personalized Rubis fuel cards offering a KES 4 per litre discount across Rubis’s retail network in Kenya. The cards will be available in both prepaid and postpaid formats, providing flexibility in cash flow management while enhancing security and simplifying fuel monitoring for agencies and their staff.
The partnership is expected to deliver significant cost savings for travel businesses, while also improving convenience through Rubis’s widespread service station network.
Strategic Industry Partnership
Rubis Energy Kenya’s Group Managing Director, Olivier Sabrié, said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to supporting sectors that drive economic growth.
“At Rubis, we recognize that travel and tourism are vital pillars of Kenya’s economy, and travel agents play a key role in keeping this sector vibrant. By partnering with KATA, we are making it easier and more affordable for them to run their operations. This partnership is not just about fuel savings, but also about empowering an industry that connects Kenyans to the world and fuels economic growth,” he said.
The initiative aligns with Rubis’s broader strategy of tailoring solutions for industries that create jobs and deliver essential services, positioning the company as not only a fuel supplier but also a strategic enabler of business growth and community development.
Boost for Travel Sector
KATA Chairman Dr. Joseph Kithitu welcomed the partnership, noting that it reinforces the association’s mission to deliver value-added solutions to its members.
“This collaboration with Rubis provides our members with tangible cost savings and enhanced efficiency. It is a reflection of our commitment to supporting travel agents with tools and partnerships that strengthen their operations,” he said.
Access to the Program
KATA members can register for the fuel card program by submitting the required documentation through the association. Rubis will oversee issuance and distribution to ensure timely delivery and seamless access to the discounts.
