KeNHA Warns Motorists as Heavy Rains Flood Sections of Thika–Garissa Road

Thika- Garrisa Road

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has issued a cautionary public notice warning motorists of traffic disruptions along the Thika–Garissa (A3) Road, following flooding in several sections between Bangali and Madogo.

According to the agency, sections between the 31-kilometre and 37-kilometre marks from Bangali Centre have been submerged by floodwaters after heavy rains in the area. KeNHA has cautioned that water levels may continue to rise if the rains persist.

“All road users and motorists are advised to exercise patience and caution so as to allow water levels to subside before proceeding with their journey,” the notice read.

KeNHA confirmed that its engineers and field teams are already on site monitoring the situation and will work to restore safe traffic passage once the floodwaters recede.

The authority urged travelers to avoid flooded sections, adhere to safety advisories, and report any emergencies or hazards through its Customer Care channels.
