The Social Health Authority has issued a public alert to all health care providers regarding fraudulent messages demanding payments during the signing of the Public Officers Medical Scheme Fund addendum. The Authority clarified that it does not charge any fees for signing or processing the addendum and urged providers to ignore and report such messages.
In a notice dated 2 December 2025, SHA asked health facilities to verify any communication related to contract amendments through official channels. Providers seeking assistance or clarification can contact the toll free line 0800 720 601 or the official email address provided by the Authority.
SHA also advised health care providers to report all suspected fraudulent activities. Reports can be made through the fraud reporting email or the toll free hotline. The Authority said the warning aims to protect health care providers from exploitation during ongoing contract engagements under the Public Officers Medical Scheme Fund.
Chief Executive Officer Dr Mercy Mwangangi reaffirmed SHA’s commitment to maintaining transparent processes and safeguarding providers participating in the scheme.
