Drama on the Turf as Tusker Malt, BMW Share Honours at Chairman’s Cup

Nairobi’s Polo Season Finale

Nairobi’s polo season came to a stylish close on Sunday evening as Tusker Malt’s polo team held BMW to a gripping 4–4 draw in the Chairman’s Cup final at the Nairobi Polo Club, delivering a high-intensity contest in one of Kenya’s most prestigious polo fixtures.

Tusker Malt’s team, comprising Raphael Nzomo, Hiromi Nzomo, Kelvin Jumba, and Michelle Morgan, showcased discipline and resilience over the two-day tournament, matching BMW stride for stride in a final that kept spectators engaged until the last chukka.

Sport, craft, and culture on display

Beyond the action on the field, the Chairman’s Cup unfolded as a multi-sensory experience, blending competitive polo with art, culture, and refined social engagement. The tournament reflected the evolving character of Nairobi’s premium sporting calendar, where elite sport increasingly intersects with lifestyle and brand experiences.

For the past five years, Tusker Malt’s partnership with the Nairobi Polo Club has anchored this vision, celebrating refined sport, craftsmanship, and shared connection, values that mirror both the discipline of polo and the artistry behind malt brewing.

At this year’s tournament, Tusker Malt elevated the spectator experience through a dedicated craft station, where guests were hosted while gaining insight into the malt brewing process, offering a closer look at the craftsmanship behind the brand.

Brand commitment to premium experiences

Speaking at the event, Rediet Yigezu, Senior Brand Manager, Premium Beer, said the partnership with Nairobi Polo Club has played a key role in connecting the brand with its audience through curated, premium experiences.

“It has been a proud moment to partner with Nairobi Polo throughout this season, as polo has provided us with a platform that elevates the Nairobi social scene through premium experiences, connections, and interactions with our customers and partners,” she said.

“As the curtains fall on the season, our promise is to deliver memorable experiences and give our customers a glimpse into the delicate artistry behind the distinct taste of the beer.”

A season-long presence in Kenyan polo

The Chairman’s Cup builds on Tusker Malt’s season-long sponsorship of polo events, with brand activations featured at select tournaments. These included the Lagos Incoming Tour, where teams from Nigeria and Kenya competed for the Simon Kuseyo Memorial Cup, and the Kenya International Cup, a high-profile fixture between Kenya and South Africa held in September 2025.

The continued involvement underscores Tusker Malt’s long-term commitment to polo as a platform that aligns sport, culture, and premium lifestyle experiences.

Where fashion meets the field

Away from the pitch, the Chairman’s Cup also doubled as a style showcase, drawing Nairobi’s fashion-forward crowd to the manicured lawns of the polo club. Guests embraced polo’s timeless aesthetic, pairing classic silhouettes with statement accessories and effortless elegance.

This fusion of fashion and sport was further brought to life through collaborations with Nyandisa Styling and Epica Jewellery, who curated on-site style moments and an interactive craft station, offering guests a closer look at the artistry and craftsmanship behind their designs.

Throughout the tournament, Tusker Malt’s presence on the grounds served as a natural social hub, offering attendees a space to relax, connect, and unwind against the backdrop of thundering hooves and spirited competition.
