Suzuki by CFAO Sponsors Kenya Rugby with KES 2 Million Ahead of HSBC SVNS2 Tournament

SUZUKI RUGBY VEHICLE HANDOVER

Suzuki by CFAO has announced a KES 2 million sponsorship of the Kenya Rugby national team ahead of the upcoming HSBC SVNS2 Rugby Sevens Tournament set for February 14–15 at Nyayo National Stadium.

Under the agreement, Suzuki becomes the official transport partner for the tournament, providing mobility support to the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) Executive Committee and team administrators.

Mobility support for tournament preparations

As part of the sponsorship package, Suzuki will provide several vehicle models to support team operations, including the Suzuki Jimny, Suzuki Fronx and Suzuki Grand Vitara.

The mobility arrangement is intended to facilitate logistical coordination and ensure that team officials can focus on tournament preparations and administration during the competition period.

Juliana Wakwoo, Suzuki Brand Manager, said the partnership reflects shared values between the brand and the national rugby team.

“Kenya’s rugby journey is one defined by energy, resilience, and triumph against all odds, qualities that mirror who we are as a brand. We are proud to support the national team as they prepare for the upcoming tournament,” she said.

Support for local sports development

Kenya Rugby Union Chairperson Harriet Okach welcomed the sponsorship, describing it as a timely boost for the rugby fraternity.

“We are honored to have Suzuki as a partner, whose commitment aligns with the spirit of resilience that defines the Kenyan rugby team. This collaboration signals a shared belief in the power of rugby to inspire communities and elevate the local sporting scene,” she said.

The sponsorship comes as Kenya continues efforts to strengthen its performance on the international rugby sevens circuit and deepen corporate support for local sports development.

Corporate sports partnerships on the rise

Private sector sponsorship has increasingly played a role in supporting Kenya’s sports ecosystem, particularly in rugby, athletics and football. Corporate partnerships often provide both financial backing and operational resources such as transport, equipment and branding support.

For Suzuki by CFAO, the partnership reinforces its brand visibility in the Kenyan market while aligning with national sporting events that attract broad public engagement.
