Moringa School Partners with CompTIA to Launch Cutting-Edge Cybersecurity Course Amid Rising Threats

In a bold move to address the growing cybersecurity skills gap in Africa, Moringa School, the continent’s leading tech bootcamp, has partnered with global tech association CompTIA to offer an 18-week Cyber Security Analyst Course (CySA+). This collaboration, which kicked off with a high-profile masterclass and networking event, is set to equip African cyber professionals with the advanced skills needed to protect their organizations from emerging digital threats.

The event, aptly themed “Future Proofing the Cyber Security Workforce,” brought together Chief Technology Officers (CTOs), Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs), IT managers, educators, policymakers, and industry leaders. The focus was on delivering practical tools and insights to help these key players navigate the increasingly complex and dangerous cyber landscape. As cyber threats become more sophisticated, the need for a highly trained, agile workforce has never been more urgent.

Attendees at the masterclass gained valuable strategies to bolster their cyber defenses, ensuring their teams are ready to face tomorrow’s challenges. The event also served as a powerful networking platform, connecting top-tier professionals and organizations committed to enhancing Africa’s cyber resilience.

Dr. Bright Gameli, a renowned cybersecurity expert and member of Moringa’s Tech Advisory Board, led a deep dive session on “Building a Cyber Resilience Strategy: Technology, Skills, and Teams.” Dr. Gameli emphasized the critical need for organizations to prioritize asset risk identification and upskill existing staff to close security gaps. He noted, “In today’s digital world, cyber resilience is non-negotiable. Organizations must focus on securing high-risk assets and developing effective recovery plans. As demand for product security, data transparency, and intelligence sharing grows, we must address the current mismatch in roles within teams.”

Moringa School’s CEO, Nikki Germany, highlighted the broader vision behind this initiative, stating, “At Moringa, our goal extends beyond preparing students for the future; we’re committed to empowering entire organizations with the expertise needed to thrive in the digital age. The cybersecurity skills gap presents both a challenge and an opportunity. Through our partnership with CompTIA, we’re delivering critical training that enables businesses to build strong, security-focused teams capable of defending against evolving threats.”

Clare Korir, Head of Product at Moringa School, elaborated on the course’s curriculum, noting that it includes training on vulnerability management, intelligence and threat hunting, and incident response. “By offering this comprehensive program, we aim to certify professionals who can lead their organizations in maintaining robust cybersecurity defenses,” she said.

This strategic partnership underscores Moringa School’s leadership in tech education across Africa and its commitment to bridging the skills gap in the rapidly evolving field of cybersecurity. The ongoing intake for this course signals a significant opportunity for African professionals to gain world-class training that prepares them to tackle the cybersecurity challenges of the future.
