1. Sitting Allowance

  • Chairperson: Ksh 12,000 per sitting (capped at 8 sittings/month = Ksh 96,000/month).
  • Vice Chairperson: Ksh 10,000 per sitting (capped at 8 sittings/month = Ksh 80,000/month).
  • Member: Ksh 8,000 per sitting (capped at 8 sittings/month = Ksh 64,000/month).

2. Transport (Commuter) Allowance

External members receive a Ksh 20,000 monthly transport allowance, aimed at covering commuting costs.

3. Airtime Allowance

Members are allocated Ksh 4,000 per month for communication expenses.

4. Daily Subsistence Allowance

  • Accommodation and per diem allowances are provided based on Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) guidelines. These amounts vary depending on the location and purpose of travel.

5. Medical Benefits

Members and their families (spouse and up to four dependents under 25 years) are covered under a comprehensive medical insurance plan:

  • Inpatient: Ksh 2,000,000
  • Outpatient: Ksh 250,000
  • Maternity: Ksh 150,000
  • Dental: Ksh 30,000
  • Optical: Ksh 35,000

Dependents above 25 years with disabilities or those still in school may be covered upon providing relevant documentation.

6. Car Loan and Mortgage Benefits

Members can access car loans and mortgage facilities based on the SRC’s circulars, enabling them to enhance their financial and personal welfare.

7. Retirement Benefits

Members receive a service gratuity of 31% of their annual retainer package for every term served.

8. Group Life Insurance

Members are insured for an amount equivalent to three times their annual retainer package in case of death.

9. Group Personal Accident Cover

Members are covered for an amount equivalent to three times their annual retainer package in case of accidental injury or death.
